Privacy policy
Boring Ventures Pty Ltd (ABN 67 671 943 758) operates On Autopilot. This page describes how we handle your personal information, in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
When you submit the audit form on this site, we collect: your name, email address, business name (optional) and the message you write. We use this information to respond to your enquiry and, if appropriate, to follow up about our consulting services. We retain audit form submissions for 24 months unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
When you subscribe to the newsletter, we collect your email address and we use it solely to send you the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every issue.
We collect anonymised analytics about your visit (pages viewed, time on page, country, device type) when you consent to analytics cookies. Analytics fire only after explicit consent is granted via the consent banner. Our analytics provider is Google Analytics 4, configured under Consent Mode v2.
What we don't do
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with marketing partners. We do not use it to train AI models. We do not run behavioural-tracking pixels (Microsoft Clarity, Meta Pixel) by default, and if we add them, they will be gated behind explicit consent.
Who we share with
- Formspree, receives and stores audit form submissions on our behalf (privacy: formspree.io/legal)
- Beehiiv, receives and stores newsletter subscriber data on our behalf
- Google Analytics 4, anonymised page analytics, after consent
- Caddy + Hetzner, our web server and hosting provider; minimal access logs only
Cross-border data flows (APP 8)
Several of the third-party services listed above process personal information on servers outside Australia (primarily the United States). This includes Formspree (audit form submissions), Beehiiv (newsletter subscriber data), and Google Analytics 4 (anonymised analytics).
Under Australian Privacy Principle 8 (Privacy Act 1988 Cth), by submitting forms or subscribing to the newsletter you consent to your personal information being disclosed to the relevant overseas recipient. We have taken reasonable steps to ensure the recipients handle the information in a way consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles, including reviewing their published privacy posture and contractual data-processing terms.
If you'd prefer your information stay in Australia, contact hello@onautopilot.com.au directly instead of using the website forms. We'll process your enquiry without involving overseas processors.
AI tools (use disclosure)
We use AI tools (currently including Anthropic's Claude and OpenAI's ChatGPT, on their paid commercial tiers) to assist with drafting, summarisation, categorisation, and analysis in the course of our publishing and consulting work. AI tools do not train on our customer or reader data on the tiers we use. All published content is reviewed by a named human (Jenn Yang) before publication. AI-assisted content is acknowledged in our methodology page at /methodology/.
If our AI workflows ever touch your specific personal information (for example, drafting a reply to your enquiry), we use paid-tier or API-tier services with commercial data-processing agreements that disallow training on the data. You can request that we not use AI tools in handling your specific matter; contact hello@onautopilot.com.au to make that request.
Your rights
Under Australian privacy law, you can ask us to: tell you what data we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email hello@onautopilot.com.au with the request. We'll respond within 30 days as required by law.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your personal information, contact us first. If we can't resolve it, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
