Who can set up AI for a Perth business?
Perth owners usually weigh four routes: a freelancer, one of the large consultancies, a hire of their own, or a managed AI provider that builds the agents and keeps them running. There is no Perth office and we will not pretend otherwise. You deal directly with our founder, Jenn Yang, who also runs the virtual assistant agency DotVA. The agents are built on Anthropic’s Claude and connect to the software you already pay for. You own the code, prompts and settings from day one, and if you leave we move each agent to hosting and an Anthropic account in your name.
How does a Melbourne team work on Perth time?
Western Australia stays on AWST (UTC+8) all year, while Melbourne moves to daylight saving from Sunday 4 October 2026 to Sunday 4 April 2027 (NSW Government daylight saving dates, which match Victoria’s). The overlap shrinks in summer, so we plan around it:

How much does an AI consultant cost in Perth?
Western Australian businesses pay the same as the east coast, with no loading for distance. A single automation built and handed over is $497. The productised agents range from AI Inventory Watch at $497 setup plus $99 a month to the AI Lead Engine at $2,000 plus $499 a month. Managed AI, where we run up to two, four or more agents for you, is $1,500, $2,000 or $4,000 a month. Prices exclude GST, and Claude usage is covered by the monthly fee.

Which WA rules matter for an AI project?
- Two employment systems. Sole traders, unincorporated partnerships and trusts without a company trustee are covered by the WA state industrial relations system; Pty Ltd companies are covered by the national Fair Work system (WA Government). The WA State Minimum Wage is $998.30 a week from 1 July 2026 (WA Government). If you are comparing an in-house hire with outsourcing, check which system you are in first.
- A low payroll tax threshold. WA charges 5.5% once annual wages pass $1,000,000, the joint-lowest threshold in the country with Victoria, and the threshold tapers away between $1 million and $7.5 million (WA Government). For a Perth business near that line, a six-figure AI salary attracts payroll tax; a supplier’s invoice does not.
- Privacy. WA’s Privacy and Responsible Information Sharing Act 2024 started on 1 July 2026 but binds the WA public sector, not private firms, unless a government contract passes its obligations on. For everyone else the federal Privacy Act is the rulebook, and a Perth clinic is covered by it at any turnover because health service providers sit outside the small business exemption (OAIC).
Where does AI pay off first for Perth businesses?
Greater Perth had 214,310 actively trading businesses at 30 June 2025, and 65.6% had no employees (ABS Data by region). With two in three businesses run by the owner alone, the first build should take work off the owner, and the time zone makes after-hours cover more valuable: east coast customers and suppliers are often writing two or three hours before your day starts.
