Why we launched On Autopilot

There’s a lot of AI content on the internet. Most of it is the same article restated 400 different ways: “Use AI to [grow your business / save time / 10x your output].”

Almost none of it tells you how. Or what it costs. Or what to do when it doesn’t work. Or, critically, anything specific about doing it in Australia, with Australian tools, in Australian dollars.

That’s the gap we’re trying to fill.

Who I am

I’m Jenn. I run DotVA, an Australian virtual assistant agency, and I’m the editor of On Autopilot. Both businesses are part of Boring Ventures, an Australian-owned group that also runs an Australian Shopify skincare brand and the Lead Gen Empire network of 20 comparison sites. I’m based in Melbourne. I use Claude Code daily.

We’ve been embedding AI into our own operations and our clients’ operations for the better part of two years. We’ve made the mistakes. We’ve found the workflows that work. We have the bills to prove it.

On Autopilot is where we publish what we’ve learned, before someone else writes the watered-down version of it.

What we’ll publish

• Claude Code mastery. It’s the AI tool that’s changed our work the most. Tutorials, hooks, MCP servers, skills, real workflows.
• AI for Australian small business. Industry-specific guides, Shopify, accounting, trades, real estate, hospitality, written for the actual situations we see.
• Tool reviews in AUD. Honest assessments, single-named reviewer, paid for out of our pocket.
• Q&A. Quick answers to the questions we get asked over and over.
• Tools. Free calculators (AI ROI, Claude Code cost) that don’t gate behind email walls.

What we won’t publish

• AI-generated articles dressed up with AI-generated bylines. Every piece here has a real person’s name on it and a real human who edited it.
• Vendor-paid puff pieces. Affiliate links exist on some review pages and they’re disclosed; nothing in editorial gets bought.
• The same article 400 different ways.
• Anything that requires us to claim certifications we don’t have.

What this site is also

A lead-generation engine for our consulting work. We sell AI implementation services to Australian small business, that’s the audit link you’ll see at the end of most articles. The site genuinely helps people who never hire us, and it also helps the ones who do. We’re upfront about both.

What we’d love

Reader feedback. If we publish something that’s wrong, tell us and we’ll correct it within a business day. If we publish something useful, tell us that too, it shapes what we write next.
